Cohort One
Laura Foley, MA History/HGE COGS
Dooleyanne Katsimachis, MAHGE
Rowan’s program is unique because it teaches you not only content about the Holocaust and other genocides, but also the skills to teach about these difficult, and often uncomfortable, subjects.
Sean Hodges, MAHGE
Sylvia Hogue, MAHGE
Gina Pfieffer, MAHGE/MA History Education
Cayla Ritz, MAHGE/MS Mechanical Engineering
The HGE program at Rowan has changed the way I think about education. As an engineer pursuing this degree, I have the unique opportunity to experiment with different types of technological tools that allow me to contribute to the larger discussion of how to effectively teach about the Holocaust and other genocides.
I hope to use the knowledge and experience I gain through pursuing this degree to encourage other students to combine STEM and the Humanities to create additional, unique educational opportunities.
Steven Steigerwalt, MAHGE/MA History
The HGE program offers students the opportunity to work with passionate professors and peers who facilitate learning environments intended to convey the lessons of complex topics such as the Holocaust and other forms of Genocide. Along with that, Rowan's HGE Program provides students with various courses that tie in aspects from a multitude of disciplines.
I hope to teach at the collegiate level after my college education with Rowan's MAHGE and the MA History programs. I want to provide students with similar educational environments and experiences that I have been fortunate enough to experience at Rowan University.
